Who are we?

My name is Anita Basson, my husband and I are situated in the Ladismith district in the Klein Karoo. I started researching the Kelpie breed after we moved to the farm and found that there were only a few bloodlines to choose a working dog from. I decided to take the risk and start a breeding program to improve the Kelpie breed in South Africa and bring back the true work ethics of the Australian Kelpie. In 2018 I imported a pregnant bitch from Karmala Kelpies Stud in Australia, Karmala Cherry and a year later I imported semen from Avenpart Kelpie Stud, Avenpart Gambler.

From the time our puppies are born we work hard to give our puppies positive experiences and initial training right from the beginning which prepares them for the rest of their lives with their new families.

All puppies bred are registered with the South African Sheep Dog Association and the Kennel Union of South Africa. DNA profiles and genetic health tests are done on parents and puppies.

We want to make sure that each puppy or dog that we raise match well to their new owners. In order for us to achieve this, we ask all our clients to fill out our online questionnaire on the website. With this information and us being so involved with each puppy and dog from birth, we have been very successful with all our previous puppy and dog placements in the past.
